Command Climate Review

Every commander gets a climate survey. Most commanders get the survey results, read them, and move on — because the data tells them that something is wrong without telling them why, and the people who could explain why aren't going to put it in writing on a survey that routes through their chain of command.

A Command Climate Review is the conversation the survey can't produce. Two Marine veterans with twenty years of business ownership come in, talk to your people, walk your spaces, and bring you back the truth about what's actually happening inside your unit — the stuff your sergeants major already know and your S-1 won't capture.

You can't fix what you can't see. We help you see it.

Honest Assessment, Properly Sourced

Structured interviews, focus groups, and observation across rank and billet. We talk to the people who never get asked and listen to the ones who've stopped saying anything. The report names what's working, what's broken, and what's about to break.

Marine to Marine. No Translation Required.

We've worn the uniform. We know the difference between a unit that's hard and a unit that's hostile, between a commander who's demanding and one who's destructive. Your people will recognize us as theirs, and they'll talk to us in ways they won't talk to a civilian consulting firm with a PowerPoint deck.

Findings You Can Act On

No 80-page report that sits on a shelf. We deliver a tight, ranked set of findings with specific recommended actions, owners, and timelines. Designed for commanders who have ninety days, not nine months.

The first scenario is a sitting commander who wants ground truth before something forces the issue. The climate survey results raised flags. Retention is slipping. A SHARP case, an IG complaint, or a string of suicide-prevention conversations has the commander asking what they're not seeing. We come in quietly, do the work, and deliver findings directly to the commander so they can act on them before anyone else has to.

The second scenario is a higher echelon — a brigade, a group, a wing — that needs honest assessment of a subordinate command without the political cost of formally directing one. We work for the commissioning commander, but we work in a way that respects the assessed unit's chain of command and produces findings that hold up to scrutiny. Both scenarios get the same diagnostic rigor. What changes is who receives the report and what happens next.

How We Work With You

1
Scoping Conversation

We talk through what's driving the request, who needs to know what, and what success looks like. We're explicit about confidentiality, reporting, and what falls outside our scope. No surprises later.

2
Onsite Assessment

Two to five days onsite depending on unit size. Interviews across rank and billet, focus groups by cohort, observation of formations and operations, document review. We talk to E-3s and O-6s, and we listen differently to each.

3
Findings Brief

A structured, ranked, prioritized report delivered in person. Top issues, supporting evidence, recommended actions, and a candid assessment of leadership effectiveness at each echelon. Designed to be briefable.

4
Follow-Through Support

Optional. Some commands want us to stay engaged for thirty, sixty, or ninety days to help operationalize the findings. Others take the report and run with it themselves. Your call.

Command climate is the single biggest force multiplier or single biggest drag on mission readiness, and every senior NCO and field-grade officer who's been around long enough knows it. The hard part isn't recognizing that climate matters. The hard part is getting an honest look at your own.

If you're a commander who wants the truth before circumstances force it, or a senior leader who needs ground truth on a subordinate command, we'll do the work, deliver the findings, and trust you to lead from there. That's the job.

We help build the your organization's next chapter requires.
